ASSIGNMENT 1
PASSIVE GREEN BUILDING CASE STUDIES POSTER & BOOKLET
For this assignment, it was a group project consists of 4-5 members.

Students were required to choose two case studies on the application of passive sustainable design strategies within an architectural project. 1 from a tropical climate region and another 1 from other climatic region such as Arid, Mediterranean, Temperate Continental and Polar.
ā
Each group were required to identify and compare the passive design strategies applied in both case studies and to further analyze and elaborate the impact of these passive strategies on the quality and spatial experience of the chosen project.
REFLECTION
At the end of this assignment, I was able to understand more about passive sustainable design, its green technologies, and also its applicable design strategies.

It was an interesting experience to be able to work with this group because I was able to explore more in depth about the sustainability and passive design of the tropical and non-tropical building design and how different climates can affect how they design to make it not only physical appealing but also sustainable at the same time.

From this assignment, I was able to gain 2 TGCS which are:

Communication skills
- Through working with this project, I was not only able to improve my communication skills through work discussions with my group members, but, I was also able to improve it through discussions and asking feedbacks with my tutor whenever we have any tutorial session. Through all the asking and feedbacks session, I was able to improve a lot of my communication and it also boosts my confidence skills especially in conversing with other people.

Thinking and problem solving skills
- Through this project, we were able to think critically on doing the research we needed on the two case studies buildings that we had chosen. Though we faced some challenges along the way due to lack of information found on one of the buildings we had chosen, we were able to encounter it eventually and found the information that we needed through multiples research on news articles and videos that we found on the internet.
ASSIGNMENT 2
PASSIVE GREEN BUILDING STRATEGIES REPORT
For this assignment, it is an individual work project.

This assignment is based on our studio final project where we were to analyze and develop passive and active green building strategies of our building design.
ā
We were to employ all passive green building strategies by their tropical building case study done in Assignment 1 wherever it is possible.
REFLECTION
For this assignment, it was an interesting experience as I get to work on both my studio final project and green strategies together for my final studio design. By having green strategies module working with my studio project, I was able to keep in mind on how to incorporate sustainability and passive design into my building design. Through this, it helped me a lot on how I could improve my studio design better to not only make it physically interesting, but also sustainable for the users of the site to enjoy and be comfortable while being in the building.

Lifelong learning
- Through this assignment, I was able to understand more critically about what sustainable and passive design are and the importance of them when designing a building.
- I was also able to learn more independently especially in doing my research about how to incorporate the right sustainable design inside my building.

Discipline specific knowledge
- With this assignment, I was able to put theories into practice especially with the information and research that I've done from my previous assignment 1.
- By studying the research that I've done from my previous assignment, it helped me a lot in doing my 2nd assignment especially in what I needed to include for my final project design.
